As Uncle Thoreau would put it :
I went to the words because I wanted to live deliberately.
I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life.
To put to rout all that was not life; and not,
when I had come to die, discover that I had not lived.

Homosexuality leading to death
Iraq's gays are tortured and killed! They are made to seek forgiveness before the perpetrators brutally murder them. A computer science graduate uses the Internet to locate these homosexuals via chat rooms that might be linked to gay sites. The victims are then kidnapped and killed. Some of them have been really good sons, daughters and siblings who were killed simply because they were not straight. A total of 680 have died so far. And these murderers feel they are doing a favour to the society and their religion cos the victims have supposedly sinned. Homosexuality might be considered a sin according to the religion but I am pretty sure murder is definitely a greater sin!

The Cacao bean that started it all
There is actually an International Chocolate Day!!! I am thrilled. How can anyone not like chocolate? Sadly, such souls do exist. I wonder the kinda childhood cravings they might have had if they do not desire chocolates.
My ideal vacation would be a trip to a chocolate factory similar to that of Willy Wonka's. =)) To express my love for chocolates; here's a quote to share: Armed with just chocolates we were ready to take on the world - Liyana
Happy International Chocolate Day. Let the sweetness flow :)

Reincarnation
A writer who goes by the name Semkiw has been doing research on reincarnation and his findings have recently suggested the US born environmentalist Van Jones is a reincarnation of Mahatma Ghandhi, the freedom fighter. How valid this claim is I have no idea. Before this claim, he apparently has proved with regard to similar personality traits, facial features, and other research evidence that famous personalities like Anne Frank has been reincarnated to be some some present day Swedish and the current US President to be a reincarnation of Lyman Trumbull. Damn! I was guessing along the lines of Martin Luther King.

Doctors and their indecipherable handwriting
Why is that we are unable to read the writings of a doctor? I think I might have figured out why :D Every other Doctor starts off as a medical student with legible handwritings . As time goes by, the difficulty of latin terms screws the brain over and the fact that medical students have gotta study continuously, one begins to feel worn out eventually scribbling away. It starts with the notes and continues with prescriptions :D

From the classroom
The first Anatomy class of the semester was VERY interesting. Interesting comes with a whole lot of new terms in an unfamiliar language often mispronounced by the cheena professor. Nevertheless, it was still awesome.
Some of the things that my K bank acquired:
Human body has 206 bones. (many are probably aware of this :P)
There are 10 different systems in the body.
We have 5 different types of bones.
There are 2 different types of bone marrow. Yellow bone marrow and Red bone marrow.
Hemopoiesis; the process of red blood cell production. In an infant, the spleen and liver produce these cells. However, in an adult the red bone marrow does the job. And it appears to be doing a great job by producing 2.5 million red blood cells every second.
The inorganic matrix of bone is made up of largely calcium and phosphorus. They contribute to two thirds of the weight of a bone.
The adult human body has 24 vertebrae. Originally, we were born with 34. As we develop, some of the bones fused to form bigger bones.
And many other information that will be posted as the semester goes by :D

International Literacy Day
We have knowledge within our reach. We have been taught to read and analysie to improve our lives and the lives of many others. According to statistics, there are about four billion literate people in the world. That should be more than enough to spread the benefits of education. But, inadequate resources, flawed managements often slow down the process of reaching out to people. Then again, there are many instances where well educated people are setting their time aside to help the ones who might have missed out on gaining valuable insights. Once such incident is this: Quenching a Thirst for Learning
Now...Where was I???
I had a weird dream. There is only one thing I can recall. This gets weirder by the way. I apparently committed a murder and was on the run. I was relating this to my roommate and she had to make it worse by suggesting it to be a fragment of a past memory. -_- Now I am entertaining thoughts of murder, getting hit by a car while escaping, amnesia and was sent to china. Wait, was that in some movie??

Back in School
First class of the semester. First class of Histology. It was interesting and it can be proven with reference to the following:
- I was wide awake despite having lunch just 10 minutes ago.
- The Professor spoke as though she was telling a story. Just that she did not start with a "Once upon a time..."
- And her voice was very similar to a lullaby.
Despite all these distractions, I was paying attention! I am pretty impressed with myself. :D *pats herself on the back*
